Home Security

Are You Looking To Protect Your Home On A Budget?

Even if you can't afford a costly full home security system, or don't want to pay monthly monitoring fees, you can still protect your home with stand alone motion sensor alarms. Just hang one on your wall and the alarm will sound when an intruder has entered its path.

You will find a wide array of DIY motion sensor alarms, that are easy to install, inexpensive, and provide a better level of security for your home or apartment.

Burglars don't like noise and they don't like lights. You can scare off many would be thieves, just by adding a simple motion sensor alarm in your shed, garage, on your porch, or even your gate entryway or alleyway. Add one to any area that you want to either be alerted to an intruder, or scare off a would be thief, by creating noise.

How Long Do The Batteries Last In These Alarms?

Most of these DIY motion sensor alarms use standard AAA, AA, or a 9 Volt batteries, which will last up to a year or more, since they use little draw.  It is recommended that you test these security devices on a regular basis, as you do with your smoke detector, at least once every 6 months. Use the Daylight Savings Time to test all the units in and around your house to ensure they are working properly and have a fresh battery installed.

Can These Motion Sensor Detectors Be Plugged In To An Outlet?

No. All of our motion detector alerts are all run on batteries. The batteries do last a long time though, since they draw very little energy, unless they are activated on a regular basis.

Will A Motion Sensor Alarm Work At Night In The Dark?

They sure will. All of our units will detect motion and sound a loud alarm, during the daylight, or at night. You need to be protected 24 hours a day. Just make sure to test and replace your batteries on a regular schedule, to ensure the sensor is working properly

What Is The Range Of A Motion Sensor Alarm?

It all depends on which unit you choose. We have motion detection alerts that will sense movement up to 300 feet, or you may have to actually touch or move the unit, much like the Alarm Locks. Purchase the security device that suits your needs best. A DIY motion sensor alarm can be installed in your shed. A would be thief opens the door and the alarm goes off. Some people place a unit in their mail box to alert them that the mail has arrived. Or you can get a longer range Driveway Alert to monitor a larger area, like your gate, a fence or your driveway. See what is best for you.

How Do You Avoid False Alarms And The Alarm Going Off Frequently?

You will need to hang the motion detector alert as high as possible, to avoid small animals and leaves on the ground, if it is installed outside. You can also adjust the angle of the unit to detect movement at a higher level. Just keep adjusting the unit and testing it for the best possible position or area to hang the device, to achieve security alerts, yet avoid false alarms.
